The inaugural YouTube Music Awards went down on Nov. 3, and it was a spectacle of at-times confusing proportions. Performers Arcade Fire, M.I.A., Aviici, Eminem and Tyler The Creator were on hand to create live music videos throughout the night – which ranged from jubilant (Arcade Fire’s Afterlife) to distractingly profane (Tyler) – as awards were handed out to recognize the biggest, best and most innovative music videos of the year.
